The Office of the Assessor-Recorder seeks to invest in a diverse and equitable talent pool through our annual summer internship program. Current High School juniors or seniors who are interested in careers in Government may apply to work as summer interns for the summer of 2024. Interns will learn about and aid Assessor-Recorder operations through a series of projects spanning from July to mid-August 2024. Projects will be selected and grouped based on educational objectives that utilize skills learned through each successive project.

Administered through UC Berkeley’s Graduate School of Education, the program offers challenging courses to highly motivated students who have completed Grades 7-11 (and are entering Grades 8-12). It provides students opportunity to pursue their passion and deep interests by accelerating their coursework or taking classes not typically offered during the regular school year. 5-unit classes: varies (usually 2 days per week). 10-unit classes: 3 days per week. Morning classes: 8:30 am to noon. Afternoon classes: 1-4:30pm.

Brief Info: For graduating seniors who will be attending college (2 or 4 year) locally and wish to do a paid fellowship experience. Must Have obtained a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. The DreamSF Fellowship is a paid San Francisco-based leadership and professional development program for immigrant students and aspiring professionals who seek to gain real-world experience with social justice change-makers in the Bay Area.
Fellows are paired with local immigrant-serving community organizations and gain hands-on experience in direct services, advocacy, and immigration law careers while growing a network of mentors. Fellows receive professional mentorship and attend weekly enrichment seminars to support their growth as leaders and community advocates.

Eligible high school students can apply to one of 4 types of WORKREATION jobs that they are interested in. The different types of jobs include:
Day Camp Assistant: Do you enjoy working with kids? Apply to work in one of Recreation and Park's summer day camp programs in one of our Recreation Centers or neighborhood parks. Help with summer recreation activities including sports, arts & crafts, cooking, field trips, and special events.
Facility Assistant: Apply for a job in one of Recreation and Park's many Recreation Centers facility. Working in one of our facilities you will be responsible for facility preparation including set up and/or breakdown for events, facility monitoring, interacting with the public at the front desk, and maintaining the facility's public displays.
Green Assistant: Enjoy working in the outdoors? Apply for a job assisting our gardeners in keeping our parks clean and beautiful including planting and weeding.
Pool Assistant: Apply for a job in one of Recreation and Park's many Swimming Pools. Working in one of our pools, you will be responsible for setup and/or breakdown for events, pool monitoring, interacting with the public at the front desk, and maintaining the pool’s public displays.
