Brief Info: At Sprouts Chef Training, we equip youth to rise from hardship through culinary training and job placement. Youth are paired with a chef mentor and case manager to develop the skills needed to secure and maintain a culinary job. Graduates use these entry-level jobs to kickstart culinary careers, pay for education, or pursue new industries. Since 2012, dozens of young adults have landed first-time, competitive jobs in the modern restaurant industry.

Program:  Primed & Prepped: A Youth Culinary Program

Brief Info: This program focuses on healthy living and youth workforce development. Youth develop cooking skills that can be used in a professional kitchen. This program is taught by a professional chef and helps provide youth with the building blocks to find a job in today's competitive job market and develop entrepreneurship skills. The Youth are also encouraged to share cultural and historical facts about food and cooking, demonstrating the tools necessary to build a healthy living foundation. Teen Chefs have the opportunity to grow and develop their culinary skills as they:

Brief Info: Come to the Summer Resource Fair to learn about how your children can spend their summer in San Francisco, and stick around for a some fun!


The annual Citywide Summer Resource Fair features representatives from 100 summer camps, classes, and programs for children in grades K-8, and is an excellent way to kick off your family’s summer planning.


The SF Recreation & Parks Department will host family-friendly games and good times, our exhibitors will host activities and giveaways, and the SF Public Library will give away free books.


Make it a day at the Park! The County Fair Building is next door to the SF Botanical Garden, right down the street from the California Academy of Sciences and the de Young Museum, and a good starting point for everything else that Golden Gate Park has to offer!
