Brief Info:
A national advocacy fellowship for youth working to expand and improve plant-based school meals across the U.S.
Eligibility
Ages 14–22 (parental consent required if under 18)
Must live in the continental U.S.
Current high school students (any state) OR high school graduates/college students who attended school in CA, MA, MN, NY, or WA
Must attend or have attended a school participating in the National School Lunch Program
Available for in-person advocacy trip to Washington, D.C. (July 18–22)
No requirement to be vegan or vegetarian
Program Dates & Commitment
High school graduates: April 29–August 14, 2026 (minimum 4 hrs/week)
High school students: April 29, 2026–May 1, 2027
April–August: minimum 4 hrs/week
September–May: minimum 8 hrs/month on local campaigns
What Fellows Do
Attend two weekly Zoom meetings (including Wednesdays at 7 PM ET)
Launch or support plant-based school food campaigns
Participate in youth-led advocacy (media, outreach, blogs, organizing)
Benefits
$1,000 summer stipend
Additional compensation for students continuing the full year
All-expenses-paid trip to Washington, D.C.
Mentorship from leading nonprofits
Training in food systems, policy advocacy, organizing, and professional development
Letters of recommendation and national peer network
