Note: Fidelity at Tier 1 is a prerequisite for acceptance into the Tier 2 training series.
Training Series Description:
SESC's PBIS Tier 2 Training Series begins with an exploration meeting to review readiness and participation requirements designed to help districts and schools to be able to fully implement and sustain a system of Tier 2 PBIS. Training begins with leadership to help prepare the administration and internal coaches to guide implementation. A school-level implementation team for Tier 2 will be formed to attend three days of training to learn to implement the core elements for PBIS at Tier 2 (see graphic below) including:
Development of a team to install and create systems to match practices to student needs, proactively and effectively deliver evidence-based interventions, and monitor the effectiveness and fidelity of the interventions.
Development of data systems to assist with early identification of students who require Tier II supports including decision rules and multiple sources of data (e.g., ODRs, academic progress, screening tools, attendance, teacher/ family/student nominations) and a formal request for assistance process that is timely and available to all staff, families, and students.
Development of a continuum of Tier II interventions that provide (a) additional instruction/time for student skill development, (b) additional structure/predictability, and/or (c) increased opportunity for feedback (e.g., daily progress report).
