Holds Policy

Pending Holds

If a hold is placed on an unavailable item on Destiny Discover (indicated by the red 'out' emblem on the top left of an item), you will be placed on a waitlist for this item. All pending holds (holds made on unavailable items) will only last for 2 weeks. If the item has not been returned to library services following this 2 week waitlist period, your hold on this item will be automatically removed.

Park Day Pickups

Library checkouts will be held for the duration of two (2) Mobile Lending Library visits

If the order is not picked up by the family or the family's HST after the second visit to their chosen park day location, that order will be checked back in and returned to our shelves.

Families who are not able to make it to their park day can alert us via email. They have the option to either choose a different park day location to pick up their items or ask for their order to not be sent out until the next visit to their chosen location.

Please note that we will only allow for 1 rescheduling per order.

Emailed Checkout Requests

Please note that we do not accept emailed checkout requests. All lending library checkout requests must be completed on our Destiney Follett Ordering Site no later than 24 hours prior to your scheduled park day. Emailed requests for titles and materials will not be accepted. We will not hold additional items for accounts that are exceeding their 25 item limit. If your account has reached this limit, please return any items you are no longer using to either our main office (located at 8950 Cal Center Drive, Building 1, Suite 110) during our hours of operation, or to one of our Park Day Locations. Once your return is processed, you will be allowed to place more items on hold for your next scheduled park day pick up.

Library Checkout Policies

General Information

For both our Student and Teacher accounts:

Library checkouts have a loan duration of 90 days. Additionally, we allow 2 renewals per item. Parents and Teachers can manually renew their items on Destiny Discover before the 90 day window has passed, or they can reach out to us via email and we can fulfill your request

For more information regarding renewals, please view our Renewal Policy section.

High Demand Item Limits

Due to high demand, students are not permitted to order duplicates of the following items on a single account

For example, if you place two sewing machines on hold under one student's account, you will only receive one sewing machine. The other hold will be removed.

Workbooks

For any workbook or other 'consumable' items checked out from your lending library, please do not write in these borrowed materials. We want to keep our materials free of any tampering to ensure that multiple other students can use them. Any writing or use of workbooks might disrupt the next student's experience with the material. Instead, we urge families to photocopy any pages within the workbooks they wish to write on and use the printed copies. If you have any questions regarding this, please reach out via email.

If you are borrowing a collection from us that contains items considered 'Consumable,' please be sure to read our Collection Etiquette guidelines below.

Collections Etiquette

1. Do not write in any of the items in this collection.

a.  These collections are made for multiple students to use. Please refrain from writing in any of the materials in this kit as it will take away from the next students use of the item.

Checkouts With Power Cords Policy

General Information

We do not guarantee that cords or batteries will be included with borrowed materials. If your library item does not come with a power cord or batteries, we would suggest using your enrichment funds to purchase a power source. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Consumables Policy

What is a Consumable Item?

Items that are meant to be written in or used up, like workbooks, art supplies, and some science kits, are considered to be consumable. These items do not have to be returned upon withdrawal from our schools.

As a reminder, any item purchased by the school is property of the school. Items can be marked consumable at any point during the school year if they can be consumed in such a way that another family cannot use them. This generally includes art supplies, science kits, and workbooks. Items such as games, puzzles, and math manipulatives can be reused by other students, thus these items will need to be returned. During the approval and ordering process, items can be marked consumable to indicate the potentiality of the item having a one time use and not have value past that, however, items marked “consumable” are not an automatic indicator that the family will be able to keep the item. Item status will be finalized during the restitution process when the family leaves the school.

For more information regarding the Enrichment Return Policy, please read the aforementioned policy guidelines below.
