History is the story of what happened in the past and is created, in part, from primary sources. A primary source is a first hand account written by a person experiencing an event. WE ARE ALL a witness to how the world is experiencing important events right now.
Each week students are asked to note the changes they, their family, and community experiences and respond to Covid19, a global pandemic. They are asked to write 2-3 sentences about what you are seeing, hearing, and feeling.
Students explored the attack on Pearl Harbor by completing a student paced Virtual Reality Nearpod exploration of Pearl Harbor. They learned about the events that led up to Pearl Harbor, explained the impact of the attack, and evaluated whether the United States should have been prepared for the attack.
Students were introduced to the "Roaring 20's" by navigating through the 1920's Speakeasy. Students learned about Womens Suffrage, prohibition, the mob, popular 1920's dances, and the difficulties of driving Ford's Model T.
Students also had the opportunity to play a game that has student investigate 1920's social norms. Students then demonstrated their understanding of the 1920's by completing an exit ticket.
