MRC - Mass Rehab
The Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission (MRC) is a state agency that promotes equality, empowerment and independence of individuals with disabilities. The Public Vocational Rehabilitation Program serves individuals who have disabilities and are interested in going to work.
Who is Eligible?
In order to be eligible, the individual must have a disability- physical, cognitive, mental, emotional or learning- that causes substantial barriers to employment.
There must be a reasonable expectation that vocational rehabilitation services will lead to a successful employment outcome.

- Assessment of interests and abilities to assist in choosing a career goal
- Assistance with determining the training program that fits the individual's needs
- Job readiness preparation including mock interviews, resume assistance and soft skills training
- Job placement and follow up to assure a correct job match
- Job development and job coaching to assist with work adjustment.
How to Apply...
Referrals for youth should be made no earlier than two years prior to his/her graduation or completion of school services. This is typically done in the fall of junior year for those students scheduled to graduate on time. Others should be made two years before they turn 22. Referrals made through the school district are part of the 688 Referral process.
Referrals are generally made by school personnel to the MRC Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor but may be made by a family member, the student himself/herself or another professional who is familiar with the student.
