While studying the house, I observed that it only had two windows, resulting in very dark rooms. Additionally, its direct connection to the national highway posed a risk to small children, who, during play, sometimes ventured onto the highway. The absence of a toilet and the structure of the house seemed to foster segregation within the family. It also felt like a very enclosed space. Based on these observations, I developed an intent for designing the house in such a way that it becomes more porous. The goal was to ensure that the residents would have enough space to live comfortably, to bring in more light, and to design the house in a manner that encourages children to play in the backyard, thereby reducing the risk of them going onto the highway.
