Colorguard

Maverick Brigade Colorguard

The colorguard is an essential part of the marching band (Maverick Brigade).  Students will learn fundamentals of dance (similar to dance class and cheerleading) as well as perform multiple times throughout the year.  You can come in as a beginner with no dance experience or have years of formal dance instruction! 

Mavericks Winterguard (indoor colorguard)

The Mavericks Winterguard is an extension of the colorguard program in the Maverick Brigade (Marching Band) and works throughout the winter months on continuing to learn about dance and create a dynamic competitive show for competitions in Southern California.  This group is open to any students at LCC, SDA and the local district middle schools.  This program operates much like a sport and is not affiliated with a class.  The group rehearses twice a week and the season runs from December through the end of March.  

2026 Season Schedule

December 2025:

• 12/3 Student interest meeting 5:30-7 pm in the band room

• 12/8 - 12/11 mini winter camp 5:30-8 pm 

January 2026:

Weekly rehearsals will be 5:30-8:30 pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Saturday rehearsals will be 10 am till 2 pm 

• 1/7   & 1/8   week 1 rehearsals 

• 1/14 & 1/15 week 2 rehearsals 

• 11/17 Saturday rehearsal 10 am - 2 pm

• 1/21 & 1/22 week 3 rehearsals 

• 1/28 & 1/29 week 4 rehearsals 

• 1/31 Saturday rehearsal 10 am - 2 pm 

February 2026: 

Weekly rehearsals will be 5:30-8:30 pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

*First show of the season 2/14 @ Mission Hills High School. 

• 2/4   & 2/5   week 5 rehearsals 

• 2/11 & 2/12 week 6 rehearsals 

• 2/14 Mission Hills show day estimated time commitment is 9 am till 9 pm 

• 2/18 & 2/19 week 7 rehearsals 

• 2/25 & 2/26 week 8 rehearsals 

• 2/28 Saturday rehearsal 10 am - 2 pm 

March 2026:
