LCC Music Program Boosters/Parent Info
Mission Statement:
The mission of the LCC Music Program Boosters is to raise funds, plan events and support the students in their musical education and development through active involvement at music commitments. School districts rarely pay for music program expenses so booster programs are meant to supplement the needs of music programs. This group will be responsible for organizing fundraisers in coordination with the band director. We have a variety of fundraisers to draw from and use in the future but we are always looking for new ways to raise money. This group will also assist with the planning and logistics of various performance events. Just as the teacher and students are ambassadors of the school, so are parents who are volunteering their time. You all represent our program and we are so very lucky to have people like you. Most important, this group is meant to be a musical support system for the students. Student musical development and welfare are the utmost priority when considering our planning because we are all in service to them.

Practice Makes Perfect!
All instrumental music students are encouraged to seek out private lessons for their primary instruments as they will not be able to get the individualized attention they need to continue to develop as a musician while participating in a music ensemble at the middle and high school level. Private lessons will help your music students get very in-depth exploration in the pedagogy of their instruments and help them find a new appreciation for music and their craft. Bertrands music is the largest company in San Diego that offers private music lessons but I encourage you to look into other lesson options by reaching out to local colleges and music studios.
