Music Program Overview
The La Costa Canyon High School Music Program is made up of our Band classes, Rock Band class, MIDI Composition class, Beginning Guitar class, Jazz Band, Colorguard, Indoor Percussion and Maverick Brigade, home of the only marching band in the district! We pride ourselves in providing the students in our school and greater community with the opportunity to learn about music and performance through exciting and engaging instruction. Our students perform dozens of times throughout the school year all around Southern California and beyond!

About me
I have been involved with music for over 20 years and have played trumpet for a majority of that. My desire to teach stems from my interest in helping others learn how to find their passion in music. I have taught at several schools as a music coach, music director, marching band coach, visual caption head and have given private lessons. I marched with the world class drum corps, the Santa Clara Vanguard. I also served in the United States Marine Corps as a Trumpet Instrumentalist for eight years and performed across the country. One of my favorite hobbies is to compose and arrange music. I have music published with the Robert W. Smith Music Company and have my own publishing company. I hope that all of my experiences and passion will be a great help to my students and inspire them to become lifelong learners of music!
