- Comes to class on time
- Follows directions
- Is positive-does not complain about activities
- Has good attendance
- Always involved with the students…. Don’t just stand around
- Use appropriate language
- Demonstrates correct skills to your partner
- Uses age appropriate behavior
- Uses “people first language”
- Isn’t too competitive…allows the students a chance to succeed
- Leaves conflicts outside of classroom
- Has a positive attitude with lots of energy
- Cheers for all students to do their best
- Make activity fun by using an energetic voice
- Runs even when you are lazy
- Shows excitement for activities, even those you don’t want to do
- Uses verbal reinforcements with students
- Does things without being told
- Leads stretches activities without being asked
- Volunteers to be a leader
- Sets up and takes down equipment
- Helps other peer tutor with a difficult student
- Be partners to those when their partner is absent
- Assists students in locker room as needed
- Cleans up at the end of class
- Demonstrates the correct way if students need help
- Waits for the student even when they are slow
- Doesn’t get mad when students can’t do something quickly
- Explains and demonstrates as many times as necessary

- Doesn’t let students get on your nerves- they set limits
- Allows a student to complete a task at their own pace
- Tries to understand and listen to what they say, doesn’t just dismiss them
- Uses positive reinforcements
- Focuses on students not other peer tutors
- Pays attention to student when they are talking
- Includes students in conversations by asking personal questions about their weekend etc..
- Challenges students to be independent and to do their best by asking “how fast can you” or “show me how”
- Asks Staff questions if confused
- Compliments students for what they do well
- Points out other students that are doing well
- Tells the students to have a great day
- Lets Health Care Assistants and teacher know if there is a problem
