Students must apply or audition and be accepted to take these courses.

For Course Selection in Aeries, you may select the following courses for which you intend to audition or apply. Carefully select alternate courses in the event that you are not accepted.

Associated Student Body (ASB)  If you plan to apply for ASB, select another course or a free period until the ASB Director confirms your position. Please visit the ASB site to obtain the application and more information.

Advanced Chorus Select this course online in Aeries and write it on your contract. For this course or if you would like to skip any course in the Envision Course Progression, you must participate in the audition placement process for instructor approval. Please refer to the Envision website for audition information. Your schedule will be adjusted, if necessary, based on instructor placement.

Chamber Orchestra, Wind Ensemble or Jazz Band Select Chamber Orchestra, Wind Ensemble or Jazz Band online in Aeries and write it on your contract. Please refer to the Envision website for audition information. If you are not approved, your counselor will replace the band course with an alternate listed on your Course Selection Contract.

Cinema Lab Select Cinema Lab online in Aeries and write it on your contract. Please refer to the Envision website for application information. If you are not approved, your counselor will replace Cinema Lab with an alternate course listed on your Course Selection Contract.

Conservatory (Grade 10-12 only) You must apply for Conservatory. These courses take place after school and cannot be selected during online course selection. Please refer to the Envision website for application and audition information.

Digital Media Production Select Digital Media Production online in Aeries and write it on your contract. Please refer to the Envision website for application information. If you are not approved, your counselor will replace Digital Media Production with an alternate course listed on your Course Selection Contract.

Intermediate Dance, Advanced Dance, or Choreography  Select the dance course you plan to take online in Aeries and write it on your contract.  For these courses or if you would like to skip any course in the Envision Course Progression, you must participate in the audition placement process for instructor approval. Please refer to the Envision website for audition information. Your schedule will be adjusted, if necessary, based on instructor placement.

Independent Study PE (ISPE)  For both Fall & Spring 2024-25, eligible students must submit an online application via the SDUHSD website. 

• Returning Students:

  • If you were previously approved for ISPE as a 9th grader during the 2023/2024 school year, and plan to apply again, then you may select an unscheduled period in lieu of on-campus PE in Aeries and in the course selection contract. 

  • If you are not currently participating in ISPE this school year, but you are applying for next year and awaiting approval, you still need to sign up for a PE course in the interim. If you do not make a selection for your 10th grade PE course by 3/11, we will adjust your schedule to include a required PE course.

• Incoming Students should sign up for a PE course on Aeries and type ISPE on their contract for their desired term/period.  

  • *Incoming 9th Grade Students who are approved for ISPE will be offered the required Health curriculum and must complete it by the designated date in summer 2024. *There will be no exceptions to the district deadlines for ISPE & Health.

PE Credit for Athletics (Grade 10-12 only)  If you need PE credits to meet graduation requirements and you play a CIF sport, you may select PE Credit-Athletics online in Aeries and write it on your contract.  Select the class in the fall term if you play a fall sport, and the spring term if you play a winter or spring sport. You must submit the PE Credit-Athletic application. Note: In order to be eligible, students must have passed the California Physical Fitness Test.

Peer Assistance Listeners (PALS): Select PALS online in Aeries and write it on your contract. Please complete the PALS application. If you are not approved, your counselor will replace PALS with an alternate course listed on your Course Selection Contract.

Rock Band/Music Industry:  Select Rock Band online in Aeries and write it on your contract. Please refer to the Envision website for audition information.  If you are not approved, your counselor will replace Rock Band with an alternate course listed on your Course Selection Contract.

Peer Tutor (Grade 11-12):  Select an unscheduled period online in Aeries for the period that you hope to be a Peer Tutor.  Write Peer Tutor/Teacher Name on the course contract if you have already confirmed with the teacher.
