There will be two student-athlete orientation sessions offered prior to the start of the fall semester: Depending on your sport, you will be assigned orienation dates to attend. Rachel Rhoades will communicate with you with details on the date and time you need to attend.
This Student-Athlete orientation is Mandatory, it will be hybrid, partially on zoom and partially in-person. There will be no need to arrive early or purchase additional flights to make it to this student-athlete orientation.

Session #1: Zoom Orientation- Wednesday August 6th, from 6-7:00 pm - With Need-to-Know Details meant for Parents AND Students
We will have information on move-in, financial aid, immunizations and medical clearance, and more about our Summer Bridge program.

Session #2: In-Person Orientation-On Friday August 22nd, from 2:00-4:00 pm in the Peterson Gym classroom 153 - Located in Fowler Athletic Center - meant for Parents AND Students
We will be joined by our Athletic Director, Academic Support Staff, DEI Coordinator, NIL Coordinator and our Faculty Athletics Representative.
After the first hour, the Parents will attend a Parent Panel, and the Student athletes will attend a Systems Orientation until 4:00 pm.
Student Athletes must BRING LAPTOPS to this in-person meeting!
**Zoom recording will be provided for parents who are not able to attend in-person.
This panel will help guide parents to help them understand how to best support their student in college, understand available resources, and gain insight into the collegiate experience. If parents are not able to attend in-person, the zoom will be sent out via email afterwards!

New Student Orientation (NSO) that is hosted by SDSU’s main campus is highly recommended for our athletes because the Student-athlete orientation explained above does not go into as much depth as main campus’ orientation.
