SDSSU-Graduate School Comprehensive Examination Application
Surigao del Sur State University is a (11) year-old University with a mandate to offer post-graduate, graduate and undergraduate programs. As to the Graduate School, it has been a decade now that it has offered a number of curricular programs from its maiden offerings which include MST, MAT, MPA and MEd. Moreover, students from Surigao del Sur and neighboring provinces can now choose from a range of at least fifteen graduate school programs offered in Tandag Campus, Cantilan, Lianga and soon in the other campuses of SDSSU.
The Surigao del Sur State University main Campus is located in Tandag City, Surigao del Sur; with its six other Campuses namely: SDSSU-Cantilan Campus, SDSSU-San Miguel Campus, SDSSU-Cagwait Campus, SDSSU-Lianga Campus, SDSSU-Tagbina Campus and SDSSU-Bislig Campus.
Republic Act 9998 otherwise known as an “Act Converting the Surigao del Sur Polytechnic State College (SSPSC) in the province of Surigao del Sur into a State University. Section 3 of RA 9998 specifies that the University offers both graduate and undergraduate programs. The graduate school programs started through resolution no. 54 series of 1999 which provides on the confirmation and approval for the offering of the Graduate School programs in the Main Campus specifically on Master’s in Education, Master’s in Public Administration and the Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) programs, due to a continuing demand for graduate and post graduate programs, the University expanded its programs through its offering of additional Master’s degree program and Doctorate programs: in 2010 the Doctor of Education major in Education Management; in 2011 Doctor of Education Major in English Language Teaching , in 2013 Master of Science in Computer Science and Doctor of Philosophy Major Mathematics Education and Science Education.
At present, the University extended its offering for Master’s Programs in Lianga Campus, Cantilan Campus and a consortium post-graduate school program for Agriculture in Tagbina Campus and San Miguel Campus where its enrollment roughly reached up to 1,200 graduate and post graduate students from the different places of Surigao del Sur and even from its neighboring provinces in Agusan Sur, Agusan Norte and Surigao Norte.
