The Parkland Hockey Academy is offered in Semester One for students in grades 9-12. Upon completion, each Grade 10 student will earn 4 credits for PHE 10 Hockey and, 11 and 12 student will earn 4 credits for Hockey Skills. The participants will be on the ice at Panorama 3 days per week and engaged in dryland and online training at their home school the other 2 days.
Application Forms
Students wishing to be considered for the Hockey Academy Program are required to complete and submit an application package. Applications received after the March deadline will be waitlisted for consideration after the other applicants have been processed.
All students interested in the Parkland Hockey Academy must submit an application each year. In the application process, students and parents will be requested to indicate their reasons for applying to the program. Applicants will also be asked to provide the names of two references specific to hockey. A subsequent interview may also be requested. Program staff will review all applications.
Hockey Academy Fees
The fee to participate in the Hockey Academy is $1,000. The fee covers the cost of ice, transportation back to school, various equipment, and coaching. The students will be required to provide their own hockey gear. Academy students will also be required to participate in one fund raising activity to help supplement the cost of the program.
