The District 54 Feeding Field Leaders have generated the following collection of digital and printable resources and activities that you may choose to use with your child. These pages are meant to help support and maintain feeding and swallowing skills at home. Please follow the recommendations from your child’s therapist. General Strategies for Mealtimes

Placemats
Placemats are often used in your child’s classroom to help as a visual reminder for using good eating behaviors. They can be printed and made water resistant using contact paper, clear tape covering the page, page protector, laminated, etc.


Oral Motor Difficulties

Oral motor difficulties may hinder the way a child eats or swallows food.


Sensory/Picky Eaters

Children may have a disorganized sensory system that affects the way they interact with and eat food. Below are supports that may help promote feeding skills within the home.
