Connecting the Phonak Roger Touchscreen Mic (“Teacher Microphone”) to Chromebooks and iPads.
This microphone allows the student to hear the speaker’s voice directly into their hearing aids, cochlear implants, BAHA and Focus devices.
This microphone also allows the student to hear the audio output from computers, chromebooks, iPads and other devices directly into their hearing aids, cochlear implants, BAHA and Focus devices.
Confirm that the student has their receivers attached to their hearing aids, cochlear implants or BAHAs.
Turn on the Roger Touchscreen Mic.
Connect the Roger Touchscreen Mic by holding the top of it close to each hearing aid, cochlear implant, BAHA or Focus device and pressing the “connect” button on the screen for one second and then releasing.
Plug one end of an audio cord into the audio jack of the Chromebook or iPad and the other end into the bottom of the Roger Touchscreen Mic audio jack.
If an option screen pops up on the Touchscreen Mic, choose the first option “Input”. (Do not choose the options “Output - tablet” or “Output - computer.”)
Play the audio on the Chromebook or iPad.
