Grading: Student Government is a class, therefore all grading requirements shall be outlined in the class expectations given by the advisor every semester. The advisor is the only one who can assign work and grade said work.
Lettering: A high school letter is an award earned for excellence in various school activities. A varsity letter signifies that its winner was a qualified member of an organization and it is awarded after certain standards have been met.
For the upcoming school year, these are the standards for receiving a letter/pin for Student Government:
Be enrolled both semesters in the student government class
Maintain a 3.0 GPA for the entire school year (based on semester grades)
Successfully Chair an event, chair a new event and follow through with it, or be a member of the executive board who fulfills his/her duties of that position
90% class attendance
Actively participates in class and does not waste time
Only uses cell phone for Government business
Has a positive attitude and does not complain
Shows respect for peers, advisor, BHS staff, and BHS Students
100% attendance at the mandatory events
Participation in spirit days and formal meeting themes
