Consideration for Removal: Members shall be considered for removal if suspended from school or placed on disciplinary probation if it occurs twice in a school year or three times total, recognized as academically ineligible according to election process guidelines, convicted of a crime, engage in actions deemed detrimental to the Student Government and/or the school, or students showing little effort. Students will be removed if he/she earns a D or F for a semester grade. The removal of a member is at the discretion of the advisor, administration, and Executive Government.
Officer Replacement: In the event that an officer is removed from the Student Government, with the exception of the President, there must be an in class election process to replace the former officer. Election guidelines must be followed, voting will only take place within the Student Government class. In the event that one of the Presidents is removed, the other President will continue on his/her own for the rest of the school year.
Post-Removal: Once a representative is removed, he/she shall lose all responsibility as a member, the title of Student Government Representative, privilege of running out of class events, ability to letter, and all voting rights. The member will become an active Teacher’s Assistant within the class and will still receive a class credit, but will be assigned duties by the classroom teacher.
Dismissal Appeal Process: A student dismissed from their duties of Student Government as outlined in the constitution may appeal their dismissal to a board made up of the Student Body Presidents, Advisor, and Administration. This request must be made within 4 school days of the dismissal in a formal letter addressed to the Presidents and the Advisor. If a President is the dismissed member, he/she must address the letter to the Advisor.
