Good morning 5th, last day before mid-term...phew!
We have our usual few things to do before our break.
In our Treasury we will do some work on plurals. We are doing some Word problems on the Circle, plus English in Practice and Work it Out, WOW words and spellings to be completed too.
We have another Gaeilge comprehension today too like yesterday.
And as it's technically our last day of the school "week" there is a short Art lesson for you to attempt.
Talk to you all at 11am as usual everyone.

It's the Circle again today 5th. If you haven't already, watch the videos below and complete the activities on ixl. Today we will do p151 Q 1 & 2. You may complete the design task at the bottom of the page if you wish, or try the Art activity below.
The Circle connects Maths, Art and Science. Watch the video below and try some activities.
All art begins with making marks. These become lines, and this leads to shapes. Then just add colour! Artists who concentrate on these ideas are sometimes known as Abstract artists, as they concentrate on shape and colour almost exclusively. Watch the video on a famous abstract artist Wassily Kandinsky then begin the activity.
We will do something slightly different from Kandinsky, using circular objects to create our art work. (See the pictures below)
Circles and More Circles.
You will need:
Paper
Pencil
Some circular objects to create your circles (sellotape roll, toilet roll insert, bottom of cup/glass, small bowl etc)
Colours - Paints, Sharpies, Markers, Crayons, Pens or Colouring pencils
Bonus activity - if you have a mathematical set at home (protractor, compass, set square etc) you can use these too.
Step 1
Using pencil, create circles on your page by tracing around edges carefully.
You can overlap evenly or randomly and can use different size objects.
Step 2
Fill up the whole page. When you reach the edge of the page, just leave some half completed circles.
Trace over the completed circles with a black sharpie or pen.
Step 3
Begin to fill in the overlapping sections of the circle. Choose a random selection of colours. Perhaps start with the smallest sections first.
Step 4
Fill up the whole page. If you need to, go back over the outlines of the circles in black.
