Hello 5th Class!
Here we are again, school closure! I would much much MUCH prefer to be in school saying hello and hearing about your holidays, but so be it. I am really hopeful it will only be for a few weeks. Fingers crossed!
Here is how we will work for the coming weeks. Every day I will post some work on the website for you to do, similar to how you worked with Ms Mulqueen. It will be dated to make it as easy as possible for you to find it. It will be live every day from 9am.
Every day at 11am I will be available on Google Meet for a check in, to review any work completed and to help with any problems you might have. I will send the link to your parents for our first meeting tomorrow at 11am. It will be the same Meet address everyday. I will also be available during school hours via email.
Hopefully you have collected your books from school. No worries if not, you will get them eventually. Every day we will do some Write 2 Read, English in Practice, Work it out and some topic work in Maths. Every so often we will do some bonus SESE/SPHE/Art work once we get used to the new routine.
I don't want you to worry too much about the work, about getting through it all or missing days etc. I know that it can be a challenge to get it all done and it can be busy at home, so just do your best. If you can I would ask that you get your reading and work for Write to Read done every day, that should be number 1. We will be reading "Holes" by Louis Sachar. There will be an audiobook for all the chapters. After that, English in Practice and Work it Out will be good to keep up with as they will help you revise until we get back. Try and do some ixl everyday. I will suggest a skill for you to do daily, and if you do it from 2pm til 2.30pm, I will (hopefully) be able to view your progress live and possibly send a message through ixl if you get stuck - I'm not sure if this will work but we can try!
Talk to you at 11am everyone!
Mr Kelly
