Why: SmithRx provides innovative sourcing pathways to drive down pharmacy costs which helps individual members and ALL members reduce both ongoing prescription & monthly premium costs.
What: SmithRx works with members directly to either get the lowest cost at the pharmacy (using their tech to apply coupons & more) or to get high-cost drugs at free or extremely low prices through grant programs run by pharmaceutical companies.
How: Register at www.mysmithrx.com to access your prescription benefit. (This is also located on your Quantum app & medical card). You can also call them at 844-454-5201 with any questions.
To register on the site you will need your medical ID card in hand. During the 2023-2024 plan year, you will get a physical card in the mail. Or you can pull your card from the Quantum portal by accessing/creating yoru profile at www.mydsst.com
The registration process needs your first and last name as it appears on your medical ID card, your member ID, date of birth and an email.
You can see all your prescribed and filled prescriptions, a history of when you picked them up at the pharmacy, a covered drug list, plus more.
Getting your Medication: You can choose to pick up your maintenance medication either in a 30 day or 90 day fill at retail pharmacies. By selecting a 90 day fill, you only pay for a 2 month supply. Saving you money on your maintenance drugs.
What is a maintenance drug? It's any prescription that you take on a daily basis to treat an ongoing condition. Medications such as birth control, cholesterol medication, high blood pressure medication would be examples of maintenance medications.
Do you take specialty medication? You may qualify for Patient Assistance Program
Participation in this program is required and based on your annual household income. If you choose to NOT engage with SmithRx with your eligibility in the Patient Assistance Program, your specialty medication will not be covered by the plan.
If you qualify for the program, you and DSST have NO out of pocket cost associated with your specialty medication.
If you DO NOT qualify, you may be eligible to participate in the Copay Max Assistance program.
SmithRx will work with you directly on both the Patient Assistance Program and the Copay Max Assistance Program.

On September 1, 2023, SmithRx is switching their mail order pharmacy from ServeYou to Amazon Pharmacy Home Delivery. Anyone impacted by this change will receive a letter directly from SmithRx but for your convenience, we are also sharing information below:
What does this mean? On September 1, 2023, your prescription(s will be transferred to Amazon Pharmacy from ServeYou. It will take a few days for Amazon Pharmacy to process and for a pharmacist to review your prescription(s). Once you have signed up for Amazon Pharmacy (see instructions below), you will be notified when you can place your next prescription order. Action: Please let your provider know that you are switching to Amazon Pharmacy and they can send your prescriptions to Amazon Pharmacy via e-scribe (Amazon Pharmacy Home Delivery), fax (1-512-884-5981), or phone (855-206-3605).
What do you need to do? You need to sign up for Amazon Pharmacy on, or after September 1, 2023:
Step 1: visit www.amazon.com/smithrx and click "Get Started". If you are already an Amazon customer, then follow the simple sign-up process. I fyou are not yet an Amazon customer, you'll need to sign up, validate yourself, and then follow the instructions.
Step 2: Verify and/or add your insurance: you may find an additional 2-digits to your pre-populated member ID. It is important to verify your full member ID on your card against the insurance profile. Reminder: Please have your insurance member ID card ready to double check all of your information.
Step 34: once you are signed up and your medication(s) are processed, you will receive a notification from Amazon Pharmacy that your medications are ready to order and you will need to go back to your account to check out.

What medications does Amazon Pharmacy not dispense?
Amazon Pharmacy does not dispense some medications. For example, Amazon Pharmacy does not dispense Schedule II controlled substandce medications and mor than a 30-day supply of Schedule 3-5 controlled substances. YOu might find a few others that are applicable to you; therefore, if you have a medication that is not able to be filled by Amazon Pharmacy, please contact SmithRx directly about how you can obtain your medication.
