In Science you will be required to write up reports on the practicals you do.
Follow these guidelines to help you write your science report - if you click on the headings there is more information and an exemplar for each section.
Title
(The name of the experiment or investigation – usually short two to three words)
(A sentence or two stating the purpose or the experiment and investigation)
(Your prediction of the solution (what you think would be the result of the experiment-If (independent variable) is (changed to) then the (dependent variable) will (statement of what will happen).)
(What was manipulated/changed?)
Dependent variable
(What was measured?)
Controlled variable
(What was kept the same?)
(The list of materials or items you are using during the practical, include quantities i.e glassware, chemicals etc)
(The steps needed to perform or conduct the experiment, present as dot point form)
(Presented in tables or graphs, observations are included, calculations may also be included in this section).
(An interpretation of the results or further analysis of the experiment. Usually a set of questions are given and answered).
(A summary of the experiment and what was found and usually reflects back to the aim of the experiment).
