The Amazing Off-Season of the New York Jets

By Vincent M. Fioto | Class 711

Jets Signings

The Jets have made a lot of signings both good and bad. Let's start with the Jets agreeing to terms with DE (Defensive End) Solomon Thomas. Thomas was a first round pick of the San Francisco 49ers and he played for former 49ers defensive coach Robert Saleh (Jets Head Coach). Another signing the Jets made was former Bengals TE (Tight End) C.J. Uzomah with a three-year $24 million dollar deal. A resigning, personally my favorite, is WR (Wide Receiver) Braxton Berrios with a two-year twelve million dollar deal that includes seven million dollars fully guaranteed. The last big signing is former Rams and Cowboys K (Kicker) Greg Zuerlein with a one-year 2.75 million dollar deal, with a base value of two million and one million dollars guaranteed. Zuerlein seems like a good sign because his field goal percentage is 82.2% and extra point percentage is 95.8%.

The First Round of the NFL Draft

The Jets had three picks in the first round: a fourth, a tenth and a 26th. For the fourth pick, the Jets selected Ahmad “Sauce” Gardner, QB (Quarterback), from Cincinnati University. For the tenth pick the Jets selected Garrett Wilson, WR (Wide Receiver), from Ohio State University. Last but certainly not least, for the last pick in the first round with the 26th pick, the Jets selected Jermaine Johnson II, EDGE, from Florida State University.

The Second Round of the NFL Draft

The Jets had only one pick in the second round which is the 36th pick or the fourth pick in the second round. The Jets selected Breece Hall, RB (Running Back), from Iowa State University. During the 2021 college season, Breece Hall played 12 games, 253 carries with 1,472 yards rushing. Additionally, he has a 5.8 yards per carry with 20 touchdowns for rushing. Check out the rest of his stats here.

The Third Round of the NFL Draft

The Jets had only one pick in the third round which is the 101th pick. The Jets selected Jeremy Ruckert, TE (Tight End), Ohio State University. Duringn the 2021 college season, Ruckert played 11 games, had 26 receptions with 309 yards receiving. Additionally, he has 11.9 yards per catch with three touchdowns for receiving. Check out the rest of his stats here.

The Fourth Round of the NFL Draft

The Jets had two picks in the fourth round, a 111th and a 117th pick. For the 111th pick in the NFL draft, the Jets selected Max Mitchell, OT (Offensive Tackle), Louisiana State University. For the 117th pick in the NFL draft, the Jets selected Micheal Clemons, DE (Defensive End), Texas A&M. See Micheal Clemons stats here.

Win Or Loss

I am going to predict the Jets schedule.

Week 1: Ravens @ Jets WIN

Week 2: Jets @ Browns Loss (Hello Deshaun Watson.)

Week 3: Bengals @ Jets Win (I think that the Jets are going to win is because last year we beat the Bengals who were SuperBowl contenders without most of our team injured and with a backup Quarterback.)

Week 4: Jets @ Steelers Win (If Trubisky plays no doubt we win but if Trubisky doesn't start who is the Steelers Quarterback.)

Week 5: Dolphins @ Jets Win (I think at home the Jets are going to beat the Dolphins but when the Dolphins are home the Jets will be defeated.)

Week 6: Jets @ Packers Tie (This will be an even game because the Packers are all over the place.)

Week 7: Jets @ Broncos Win (Jerry Jeudy, the best Wide Receiver on the Broncos, is out for the season and the Jets will take flight.)

Week 8: Patriots @ Jets Win (I think the Patriots are waiting for next years draft for a certain player and that the Patriots are going to do horrible this season.)

Week 9: Bills @ Jets Loss (20% chance for the Jets to win and 10% is cause they are home.)

BYE WEEK

Week 11: Jets @ Patriots Loss (The Patriots fans are going to go wild in Gillette stadium.)

Week 12: Bears @ Jets Win (The Bears are terrible.)

Week 13: Jets @ Vikings Loss (Justin Jefferson, Dalvin Cook, and Kirk Cousin and don’t forget about Justin Jefferson's griddy.) Click here to see the griddy

Week 14: Jets @ Bills Loss (Just don’t ask.)

Week 15: Lions @ Jets Win (Lions just are very disappointing for Lions fans that is.)

Week 16: Jaguars @ Jets Win (Jets take flight.)

Week 17: Jets @ Seahawks Win (Without Russell Wilson they are done.)

Week 18: Jets @ Jets @ Dolphins Loss (No comments.) Final Record: W:10 L:5 T:1 Check out the New York Jets' Greatest Plays of 2021.
