An adventure of two princesses–and a winged lion–all conjoined in one compelling book. Ji-Lin and Seika must travel across the Hundred Islands of Hitmitsu to restore peace with the dragon as tradition demanded. But are they ready, having left years early? Facing the Koji, who are monsters of many shapes and sizes, Ji-Lin and Seika would land their names in the history of the Hundred Islands of Himitsu. And–they just happen to be discovered by others beyond the world of the Hundred Islands of Himitsu. Ji-Lin and Seika meet an supposedly “annoying” boy, growing attached to him as the days go by. They would make decisions no one dared make, as it defined the creation of the island…
Seika is the heir to the throne. She lives on the imperial island of Shirro, the largest of the Hundred Islands of Himitsu with her father. All her life, she has been taught to have the manners of a woman (various ways to bow) and is seen as polite and powerful all across the land. She must overcome the stubbornness radiating from her sister, Ji-Lin, and push her to see common sense. Together, Seika and Ji-Lin make a choice that will change the lands forever. Ji-Lin and her lion, Alejan, both wish to be like the heroes of the tales they so loved. Ji-Lin is not expected to be a princess. No, she is expected to be a warrior. Whereas Seika is the heir to the throne, loved by all, Ji-Lin is just the princess who guarded Seika. She even envies Seika, but never mentions it to her sister. Greatly talented and loyal, Ji-Lin would be acknowledged, no longer the royal princess basking in the shadows of her sister. A great book recommended for students in elementary to middle school. If you are looking for a book of inheritance, pride, fantasy, and adventure, I highly recommend this book.

Godzilla Dominion is a prequel graphic novel for the movie Godzilla vs. Kong. This follows Godzilla before his battle with Kong and his discovery of the creation of MechaGodzilla. He fights with other Titans to keep his kingly throne . The titans he fights include Titanus Behemoth, Titanus Tiamat, Titanus Na Kika, Titanus Scylla, Titanus Amhuluk. He goes through battles getting battered and bruised along the way but of course he wins. If you want to watch the movie I recommend buying both the books (referring to Kingdom Kong) . This is a good book and I recommend buying it.

The novel, written by Linda Sue Park, is based on Salva Dut’s true story. It is told from two perspectives, Nya and Salva, taking place in Southern Sudan in southeastern Africa. Nya, an eleven year old girl, spends much of her time fetching water miles away from her home. She returns home after collecting water in her gourd. She goes through this procedure twice a day. Salva, on the other hand, loses his hometown after being forced to evacuate his school due the Sudanese Civil War; one step at a time he faces a new world as a war refugee by himself.
Salva is confronted with death, loss, survival, bravery, grief, and leadership. The novel focuses on the struggle and pain Salva faced as a young person. Salva is an example of bravery during his lowest points in life. The novel evokes many strong emotions and depicts Sudan’s water crisis as explained in Nya’s side of the story. Salva introduces the concept of “Keep on Walking” which means to keep moving forward in life, even when you are struggling. It would undoubtedly be a 5/5.

The novel Red Queen is about a determined and kind girl who lives in a brutal world of betrayal, loss, and power. There are two types of people: Silver Blood, and Red Bloods. Silver Bloods have special abilities that make them powerful, distinct, and god-like. Red Bloods, however, are not special or powerful, they are normal. Silver Bloods have mistreated Red Bloods for a very long time. Mare faces that mistreatment and cruelty in her everyday life. Mare and her family live in a poor town called the Stilts. Mare finally gets a job as a servant in the palace, it was there that she accidentally found her own power. Mare is forced to hide her ability and her true self and become a Silver. The King and Queen force her to become someone else, a long lost Silver princess. Mare soon finds out the Silver world is not exactly what she thought it would be, she faces many more challenges and hardships in her new, and unfamiliar life.
This is one of my preferred novels, it has everything I love in a book, suspense, betrayal, and a little murder. The Red Queen is a series of 5 Novels, telling the story of a fight for equality and justice. It's very interesting to read about how people who come from very little rise up. Mare is an inspiring character that teaches us to fight for what you believe in. Red Queen has many unexpected plot twists and betrayals that make the book extraordinarily difficult to put down.
