There are two types of individuals in this world, those who prefer cake and those who prefer pie. People who eat cake definitely believe they have made the best decision. Sure, given a cake contains frosting, that's difficult to deny, but I believe that pies deserve a little more respect than they currently receive.
Let's face it, apple pie has to be the best! The sour bite of good, crispy apples, the sweetness of sugar, the buttery, flaky, and delicate pie crust, and, of course, the spice blend, which can include everything from cinnamon and nutmeg to cloves and cardamom, combine in this simple yet sophisticated pie. Apple pie can be served plain or with a slice of cheddar cheese on top if you're feeling very adventurous (Don’t forget your whipped cream, seriously don’t).
Apple pie is high in vitamins, minerals, lipids, and amino acids, among other things. It's high in total lipids, fats, and carbohydrates. It's commonly eaten as a dessert and has a variety of health benefits. Some health benefits include regulating body temperature, help with digesting, memory enhancement, body immunity enhancement, and it helps lower diabetes. Clearly, making and eating apple pies is a healthier choice. This is why apple pie is without a doubt the best pie on the planet, and no one can dispute that.
