It is December 2021, the holidays are coming up, and you have a few days left to get your friends and family a gift. You are not sure what to get them. Here is a simple gift you can make! I think this gift is great because it can make your house feel christmassy for the holidays and they smell good! Candles are a simple gift you can make for someone; all you need are some essential oils (there are many scents you can get like: lavender, lotus, green tea, cinnamon, peppermint and more!), candle wax (soy, paraffin, or beeswax), containers (preferred metal or glass tins), and candle wicks (wooden or cotton candle), and colors/pigments!
The first step to this process is to get your ingredients. You can get these ingredients from most stores like Michaels, Walgreens, and many online stores. If you are buying these ingredients, you may want to purchase either a large amount for the number of people you have or just to have extra. If you are making an 8-ounce candle you need 5.3 ounces of candle wax per container, once you find that out, find out the number of containers you need. Then, multiply that number by the tins you are getting and change the amount to pounds because most wax is sold in pounds. You can get most pigment and scents you want from most craft stores or online retailers.
The next step for this process is melting your wax. A good method to melt your wax is to double boil. Double-boiling is when you boil water in a pot and place a container on top or melt it in a pot. Then, use a spatula or stick to mix up the wax to make sure it’s melted. After it melts, you can add the color and you can add essential oils until you think it is perfect.
Lastly, you prepare your container for pouring the wax. To do this you use an adhesive to stick the candle wick on the bottom of the container. Once you’ve done this you can pour your wax into the container and let it cool. Now you have your candle! You’re ready for the holidays!
A tiny beanie to keep your tree cozy

The holidays are about spending time with family and friends, cooking delicious meals, and especially decorating the household. But ornaments and decorations cost a lot of money. It’s $23 dollars for a box of ornaments, or even $50 dollars for special pieces. Who has money for that? Instead why not do a project that involves collaborating with family or friends. A cheap project too. ;) This holiday, try making yarn Hat Ornaments. A quick, easy, and fun project that almost anybody can do. Let’s get down to tinkering.
Some materials that you need are:
Paper towel roll, small cardboard ring
Yarn of any color (Green, red, and white for the holidays)
Scissors
Tissue paper or cotton balls
First, take your paper towel roll and cut it into 1-2 cm pieces. These pieces create the brim on the hats.
Second, take some yarn and cut 10-12 inch pieces. Make sure to cut at least 15 pieces. Also, take into consideration the thickness of your yarn. If you have thinner yarn, make sure to cut more pieces of yarn, the opposite applies for thicker yarn.
Third, take a piece of yarn and fold it in half. Then take this piece of yarn and place it inside of your cardboard circle. Make sure that the folded loop part is pointing downwards. After that, slip the two ends of your yarn through the loop and pull lightly. Repeat this step throughout the whole circle.
Fourth, push the yarn through the inner loop of your brim. You can do this by twisting the ends and shoving it through.
Fifth, take a separate piece of yarn and tie the ends together. Then take the ends of it and tie a small knot. This way you can hang up your hat using the loop.
Last but not least, stuff the inside of the hat with tissue paper or cotton balls.
And there you go, you’ve got your tiny hat ornament.
You can hang these on your Christmas tree, place them around your house, or save it as a warm present for your hamster.
