HMH ¡Arriba la Lectura! Planning Session for Biliteracy 

Participants will engage in effective planning and prioritize HMH ¡Arriba la Lectura!® content and resources to increase achievement for all students. During this time, participants will: Prioritize instruction and content based on your biliteracy/bilingual model, evaluative how an experienced coach models the lesson planning process using the necessary biliteracy tools, and collaborate with colleagues to craft organized lesson plans. 

HMH ¡Arriba la Lectura! Leader Success Overview 

In this session designed for school leaders, participants will collaborate to understand the Arriba La Lectura program structure, resources, and Look Fors to inform and guide implementation. The session includes recommendations for instructional time, program essentials, assessment guidelines, and a timeline for professional learning.

HMH ¡Arriba la Lectura! Assessments and Reporting 

Teachers will preview beginning-of-year and formative assessments in ¡Arriba la Lectura! and discuss which assessments to select based on instructional purpose. Participants will learn how to edit the online assessments to align with your instruction and assign them to students directly on HMH Ed®. They will also learn to interpret ¡Arriba la Lectura! report data on Ed to make data-driven instructional decisions based on their students’ needs.

Estrellita K-2  Sonidos Iniciales 

The focus of this first session will help teachers plan for the initial 16 weeks of instruction with a focus on of sonidos iniciales (whole groups and small group instruction), an explanation and modeling of the initial placement assessment, and progress monitoring. Participants will also be taught how to administer the Placement Test and how to utilize the Assessment app. Choose one of the virtual sessions.

¡Arriba la lectura! K-5 Getting Started for New Users

In this live online Getting Started session, participants will begin their journey with ¡Arriba la Lectura! by getting to know the program organization and lesson structure and exploring digital tools and resources on HMH Ed® to enhance teaching and learning. Participants will be able to connect key components of ¡Arriba la Lectura! to daily instruction to prepare to teach the first module of instruction as well as explore digital tools and resources to enhance teaching and learning. ¡Arriba la lectura! K-5 Back to School Planning - New Teachers

Participants will work alongside HMH Instructional Coaches to plan for the opening weeks of Back to School 2023-24. During this 2-hour session, participants will familiarize themselves with the ¡Arriba la Lectura! instructional model in conjunction with assessed skills and strategies, priority standards, materials, and objectives to make informed planning decisions for the first weeks of school. Participants will work in grade-specific breakout sessions to collaborate on lesson planning documentation to use as a guide for next year’s instruction. Choose only one of the virtual sessions.

¡Arriba la lectura! K-5 Back to School Planning for Biliteracy - New and Existing Teachers

Participants will work alongside HMH Instructional Coaches to plan for the opening weeks of Back to School 2022-23. During this 2-hour session, participants will dive deeper into the ¡Arriba la Lectura! instructional model in conjunction with assessed skills and strategies, priority standards, materials, and objectives to make informed planning decisions utilizing their selected biliteracy model. Participants will work in breakout sessions to collaborate on lesson planning documentation to use as a guide for next year’s instruction. Choose only one of the virtual sessions.
