Strengthening the Instructional Core

The Building Cross Linguistic Connections Series provides educators with pedagogical practices that leverage MLs/ELLs’ linguistic assets in support of literacy development and high academic achievement, and as such strengthen the Tier 1 instruction in bilingual settings.

Participants will:

• Build an understanding of metalinguistic awareness and cross linguistic connections and the importance of these pedagogical practices for biliteracy development.

• Become familiar with strategies that promote students’ metalinguistic awareness across languages.
