The Zones of Regulation help us understand our feelings and how our body is acting.
Blue Zone: when we feel tired, sad, or sick.
Green Zone: when we feel calm, focused, and ready to learn.
Yellow Zone: when we feel silly, excited, or a little upset.
Red Zone: when we feel very mad, out of control, or scared.
Everyone goes through all the zones. The goal is to notice what zone we are in and learn tools to help us get back to the Green Zone when we need to.
👉 At Home Tip for Families: Try asking your child, “What zone are you in right now?” and talk about strategies they could use. For example, if they say Yellow Zone, you might suggest taking deep breaths, drawing, or going for a walk. This helps kids practice using the Zones outside of school, too.
