The Zones of Regulation are a way to notice and talk about our feelings.
Blue Zone: low energy feelings like tired, sad, or bored.
Green Zone: calm, happy, focused, and ready to learn.
Yellow Zone: big feelings like silly, excited, worried, or frustrated.
Red Zone: intense feelings like angry, panicked, or out of control.
Everyone moves through different zones every day. The goal isn’t to “stay green all the time” but to recognize your zone and use strategies to manage it. At home, you can use the zones language when your child is upset or excited, for example: “I can see you’re in the Yellow Zone. What tool could help you right now?” This shared language makes it easier for kids to explain how they feel and for families to support them.
