Introduces photography as an art form. Covers the historical development of photography and photographic design and its cultural influences. Emphasizes the basics of exposing and processing photographs by introducing traditional and digital photography. Stresses appropriate processing techniques and safe use of photographic materials and equipment.
35 mm Digital SLR camera: This camera MUST have manual capabilities and working, built-in light meter.
Due to significant budget cuts, the Visual Art Department is requesting a $50 lab fee from students enrolled in visual art courses. This fee will help provide essential supplies and resources needed to maintain the quality and integrity of our visual art programs. We appreciate your support and contribution. Assessment: class work, homework, 60%
Formal Assessment: written tests, performance, projects 40%
Attendance will be taken daily. It is the student’s responsibility to make arrangements for missed work. Three days will be granted for make-up work with an excused absence or the student will receive a zero for the assignment.
All work turned in late will lose a letter grade each day it is late. After 5 days, late work will not be accepted.

100 - On time
90 - 1 Day Late
80 - 2 Days Late
70 - 3 Days Late
60 - 4 Days Late
50 - 5 Days Late
0 - 6 Days Late
Tutorial is available on a rolling basis, students just need to let me know what day they would like to stay after. I do not stay after on Fridays. Sign up is required for a tutorial to make up a zero or to complete work. Please inquire in advance to make an appointment via email or remind.com
