On the California School Dashboard, local educational agencies (LEAs) and schools that serve students in kindergarten through grade twelve are assigned a Suspension Rate Indicator based on the number of students who have been suspended for at least one full day. A student is counted as suspended only once in the suspension rate, regardless of the number of suspensions or the total days suspended.

Use a cultural lens to view data, analyze current practices, and identify the best approaches to address the inequitable outcomes experienced by African American/Black students in suspensions and overall achievement.
Apply dimensions of a framework that promotes equity and excellence for African American/Black students.
