Differentiated Assistance (DA - Level 2 support) and Direct Technical Assistance (DTA - Level 3 support) are intended to assist local education agencies (LEAs) in addressing underlying causes that led to low student outcomes while strengthening the LEA’s overall ability to evaluate the effectiveness of strategies and programs, making adjustments as appropriate (Ed Code 52071) and is based on the six principles of Improvement. LEAs are identified as eligible for Differentiated Assistance technical support if one or more pupil student groups meets meet the performance criteria as indicated on the California School Dashboard (Ed Code 52052).
