Hasty Generalization are known to not make valid arguments because they rely on evidence that wasn’t exhausted. They have a chance to be right most of the time, but also have the chance of being wrong sometimes. These generalizations present a general argument with minimal evidence that gives us the chance to explore more uncharted territory of the subject. They present anecdotal evidence, meaning the evidence they present was come across informally.
Example: My Italian brother-in-law makes great pasta; all Italian men are great cooks.
When we have to, we accept generalizations, but we should always be aware of the limitations and not mistake them for completeness in our research.
