We are Percussion!

The percussion section is split into two sub-sections - the front ensemble and the drumline. The front ensemble (aka pit) is a non-marching section made up of mallet players, auxiliary percussion, and synthesizers. The drumline consists of snares, bass drums, quints/tenor drums, and cymbals and does march on the field during the show. 


With so many instruments to choose from, we hold auditions for all of these parts. We place students based on ability, what is best for the section, and what is best for the individual. 

Marching Band

The percussion sections are the driving members of the band. If the 

Audition for the 2024-25 Marching Season:

Spring rehearsals are every Wednesday after school from 5-7 pm until the summer. 

During the summer, we will rehearse Mondays and Wednesdays from 1pm-4pm.

Auditions will be held June 17th. Please let Ms P. know if you need to audition on a different date. 

Indoor Percussion

Indoor Percussion runs completely separate from the Marching Band. It takes place after the marching band season is over from November until March. Together, the drumline and front ensemble are the sole visual and musical members of the marching show. We operate through the Indiana Percussion Association (IPA).
