2025–2026 Implementation Overview

The 2025–2026 school year marked the beginning of foundational Community Schools implementation at Valley High School following the hiring of a dedicated Community Schools Coordinator. This year focused heavily on reviewing systems, observing current practices, listening to stakeholder voices, strengthening partnerships, and creating baseline data to guide future implementation and long term strategic planning.

In collaboration with the Community Schools Leadership Council (CSLC), Valley High School developed a proposal process that allowed staff, students, families, and community stakeholders to request the use of Community Schools funds. All proposals were reviewed to ensure alignment with Valley’s three school priorities, CCSPP guidelines, and SAUSD expectations and procedures.

Funding Focus Areas

• Field trips and transportation supports for targeted student groups including:

  • Valor

  • Newcomers

  • VAPA

  • Special Education (SPED)

• Student and family centered space enhancements including:

  • Flexible student support spaces

  • Family and community engagement areas

  • College and career readiness spaces

• Technology and student centered materials including:

  • Presentation materials

  • Student support supplies

  • Program enhancement resources

• Salaries and extra duty compensation to support:

  • Workshops

  • Family engagement events

  • Student activities

  • Community Schools implementation efforts

  • Expanded schoolwide supports and programming

Key Implementation Focus

The 2025–2026 school year emphasized building sustainable systems and structures that support the whole child through increased access, student engagement, relationship centered practices, and expanded opportunities for students and families.
