The Community Schools decision-making process is designed to ensure that all voices are heard and that decisions are made collaboratively, transparently, and with the best interest of students, families, staff, and the broader school community in mind. While the Community Schools Leadership Council plays an important role in reviewing and supporting proposals and initiatives, the process extends beyond the council to include district-level review and final oversight through OCDE. This layered process helps ensure that decisions align with school priorities, grant guidelines, equity practices, fiscal responsibility, and long-term sustainability. Through listening, discussion, evaluation, and collaboration at multiple levels, the process strengthens accountability while keeping student and community needs at the center of every decision.
