Santa Ana High School's College & Career Center is located in the Counseling Center. The Higher Education Coordinator works with counselors, teachers/staff, community members and representatives from local colleges and universities to keep students informed about their college options.
The College & Career Center is open for assistance with completion of applications for college, scholarships and financial aid. Extended hours are available during peak application periods.

1. Gather Documents – contact your higher education coordinator for special circumstances
a. Parent/legal guardian federal tax forms from last year
b. Student tax forms from last year
c. Parent/student Social Security Card
d. Parents Birthdate (Month/day/year)
e. Date parents married/divorced (month and year)
2. Identify Correct Financial Aid Application
a. FAFSA.gov for U.S. Citizens, legal residents
b. CalDreamAct.org for non-U.S. Citizens
c. Cal Grant – everyone can qualify if they complete a or b above by March 2
3. FAFSA students only, create an FSA ID (Username and password) for student and parents https://fsaid.ed.gov/npas/index.htm
a. If your parents are U.S. Citizens or legal residents it is important that the create an FSA ID (USERNAME and PASSWORD)
b. If you have an older brother or sister or if your parents applied for FAFSA, they may already have an FSA ID
4. On October 1, start the Financial Aid applications
