ASSIST (Articulation System Stimulating Interinstitutional Student Transfer) is the official repository of articulation for California's public colleges and universities providing the most accurate and up-to-date information available about student transfer in California.
ASSIST is a student-transfer information system that displays reports of how course credits earned at one California Community College can be applied when transferred to a California State University or University of California campus.
ASSIST is available at www.assist.org.
Meet with your CCC counselor and transfer center often to help guide you towards the transfer process to a 4 -year university.
For eligible California residents, the California Community Colleges Promise Grant permits enrollment fees to be waived. (Assistance for the purchase of books and supplies must be applied for separately.)
Many California community colleges offer online California College Promise Grant applications through CCCApply.
When you use these financial aid online applications, the data you've entered in CCCApply will be transferred automatically, making your financial aid application much easier and faster.
The Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC) is a series of courses that California community college students can complete to satisfy freshman/sophomore level general education requirements before transferring to most colleges and majors at UC campuses.
If you choose to follow IGETC, we recommend that you complete all the IGETC courses before you transfer. Otherwise you'll need to satisfy the specific freshman/sophomore level general education requirements of your UC college or school.
You can refer to ASSIST or your transfer adviser to make sure your courses satisfy IGETC requirements.
IGETC courses must be completed with a grade of C or better. A grade of Credit or Pass may be used if the college's policy states it is equivalent to a grade of C or better.
Dual enrollment, or concurrent enrollment as it is also known, is the practice of allowing a student to be enrolled in two academic institutions at once. Usually, this involves a high school and a college. The credits apply both to high school diploma requirements and college graduation requisites.
Ask your counselor if you are interested in a dual enrollment.
Transfer Centers support and guide students through the four-year university transfer process. Programs, services, and resources are provided to give comprehensive transfer information which will help students prepare for successful admission and transition to four-year institutions.
All CCC campus have a transfer center.
