Advocates for Student Privacy

Teaches and promotes student data and privacy as an educational leader or through instructional roles.

Current Practices & Artifacts 

• SPSD Board of Education Policies (po2522, po2531, po2532, po2533)

• Elementary Librarian teaches Digital Citizenship lessons to 5th graders in each elementary building.

• Ensure library paraprofessionals are knowledgeable of library-related policies and procedures.

• Library staff is included on professional development regarding sensitivity to student privacy and equity.

• Ensure all staff are sensitive to student checkout, circulation and procedures that preserve student privacy and equity

Possible Areas for Growth 

• Librarians assist in Digital citizenship instruction taught throughout the District in every area within the curriculum

2025-2028 Target Goal(s):

1)  Elementary LMS will work with library assistants to help deliver digital citizenship lessons to 4th graders.
