Leads in the selection, integration, organization, and sharing of digital resources and tools to support transformational learning and develops the digital curation skills of others.
Builds Instructional Partnerships
Partners with educators to design and implement evidence-based curricula and assessments that integrate elements of deeper learning, critical thinking, information literacy, digital citizenship, creativity, innovation, and the active use of technology.
Empowers Students as Creators
Encourages and facilitates students to become increasingly self-directed as they create digital products of their learning that engages them in critical thinking, collaboration, and authentic real-world problem-solving.
Current Practices & Artifacts
Elementary LMS leads instruction on Digital Citizenship at with all 5th grades students.
Occasionally, Librarians work with teachers to collaborate on instruction.
Library websites with resources to facilitate student learning and recreational reading throughout the school year and summer months.
Large collections of high-interest ebooks/audiobooks and other online reading resources.
Resources available to support classrooms and instruction with online tools (Secondary and Elementary), including Sora eBook and audiobook titles in quantity; assign titles to student accounts for longer loan periods; digital encyclopedias and research databases.
Some public library collaboration on reading programs
Deselect materials frequently to keep the collections up to date and relevant; using ALA School Library guidelines
Purchase up to date and relevant print resources, that also encourages reading for fun and learning
Makerspace realia and other STEM resources being purchased for use in collaboration between library and classroom teachers at Secondary level.
Promote literacy-themed events more throughout the district and community.

Library Media Specialists collaborate as full instructional partners who co-plan, co-teach, and co-assess small and large projects with classroom educators
Secondary Librarian continues to work with ELA teachers at SPMS
Continue to grow the secondary makerspace realia purchases to encourage and engage students in real-world problem-solving and critical thinking STEM activities within the library setting throughout the district.
Instructional time for students to participate in optional Library book clubs.
Revise and update the digital collections every year (consistently).
Keeping the print collection up to date and diverse to serve our school populations (work toward this goal is continual)
