Current Practices & Artifacts
Public library collaboration with reading programs at the Elementary and MS Levels
Elementary Librarian serves on the Ruth Culver Community Library Board of Trustees, acting as a bridge between the school libraries and public library in our community.
Actively seek virtual author visits for secondary level students, hosting full grade virtual visits the past several years.
Promote the use of the public library resources when the school library does not have the resources a user needs. Assist students in getting public library cards.
Provide reading materials within our teaching community that support the Sauk Prairie Community Read (when relevant and age appropriate).
Secondary Library Media Specialist collaborates with the local public library at least once a month during the school year to bridge connections between school and the public library.
Possible Areas for Growth
Cooperative measures with the public libraries and other local businesses have given us a foundation for community partnerships, but more can be done to invite the community into our space and programming.
Collaborate with social media admin for all SPSD libraries. Emphasize the incredible work that is happening inside and outside of our libraries.
2025-2028 Target Goal(s):
Library Media Specialists will work to submit highlighted library happenings for the school district's social media (ie; Facebook).
