The school must be notified of all student entrances and withdrawals so that records can be requested or sent out.
Students who are transferring to the district should complete an online registration packet; this can be found in the parents section of the school department website. Students must be fully enrolled prior to beginning school, which may take up to 5 days to process. At the time of registration, you will need to have: a birth certificate, social security number, immunization record and proof of residence. According to state law, no student may be admitted without a statement of immunizations unless exempted for medical or religious reasons.
During the summer, new families are encouraged to enroll as soon as they are sure that they are moving to the area. This allows for records to be requested and processed in a timely manner.
If a student is withdrawing from school, you will need to contact the office as soon as you are aware of your plans to withdraw. Once a student is enrolled in a new school, and a request for records has been received, we will send out cumulative records and any special education records on file.
Registration will open each spring for the following school year; families are encouraged to register before the end of May for planning purposes. Dates for screening and play date visits will be published in the newspaper, sent to enrolled families, and shared through the Little Harbour Newsletter. Children must be 5 years old by September 30th of their Kindergarten year in order to enroll.
At the start of the school year, an update is required for all families. An Online Registration update will allow you to report any changes in personal information and confirm emergency contact inforamtion. This update is required even if you don't have any changes to report. It is imperative that we have this information for each student, including current contact information for parents/guardians and approved secondary contacts in the event that you are not available. In the event that parents are separated or divorced, the school also needs accurate custody records and parenting plans. Please update this information if it changes throughout the school year as the school can only enforce what is on file.
