WEEK TEN- "Lady Bird Beetles"
Supplies- large white paper
black crayon for drawing
markers
Lady Bird Beetles are what people on England call Lady Bugs. What a cool name! We can draw and color lady bugs in one of their habitats.
Place your paper the tall or wide way. Draw ten or twelve small ovals all over your paper. Draw a line down the center of these ovals. Each oval should have two or more black dots. These are the bug bodies. Place a very small black oval or circle at the top for its head. Color the bodies red.
Use a green marker to draw grass. Create green lines from the top to the bottom of the paper. Try to have the green lines jump over the lady bugs. If you can think of more details, go ahead and draw them. Enjoy your Lady Bird Beetles picture.
WEEK TEN- "Snail"
Supplies- large white paper
dark crayon for drawing
crayons or markers
Place your paper the tall or wide way. You all know what spirals are. It is a curved line that you begin in the center of a paper and continue to draw larger circles around and around it. Stop while you still have space on each side.
On one side of the spiral and from the bottom of it, draw a snail head coming out of the shell. A snail has two antennas and two eyes. Now draw the tail of the snail coming from the bottom of the other side of the spiral. The tail will be flat on the ground.
Draw different patterns or designs with-in the circular structure of the snail's shell. If you use more than two colors for each design, they will stand out more.
Where is your snail? Is he in the garden, a lake, the ocean? Draw in details and enjoy coloring in your artwork."Happy Snails to You"!
WEEK_"Shape Surface Design"
Supplies- large white paper
markers
Draw triangles, rectangles, and circles all over the surface of your paper with none of the shapes touching and space in between.Color these shapes in.
With many different colors of markers outline all these shapes.
If some lines overlap that's O.K. Overlapping may be something you want to do more of.
Artists have to decide when it is the right time to stop developing a work-of-art. Some of your papers will be oh-so-full, others will. Finish outlining when you feel it is right for you to stop!
WEEK TEN_ "Concentric Design"
Supplies- large white paper
black crayon or marker
crayons or markers
Draw about twenty marble sized circles all over your paper. Color these in with different colors.
Next we will draw concentric circles. Concentric is when you have a circles and you draw another one inside that, then another one inside that, Until you can only use a dot inside the last circle. The circles get smaller and smaller.
Using a black marker, begin your first circles all over the paper. Draw 9 circles, all touching. This takes patience. These circles can be wobbly and the concentric circles will also be wobbly. The contrast of the small colored circles and the black line circles will give your work a dramatic effect.
