First Grade
week 1- "Grow a Flower Garden"
Supplies: Large White Paper and Crayons
1. Using a dark color crayon draw a line 1 to 2 inches up from the bottom of your paper.
2. Plant 4 to 6 seeds (draw them) beneath this line, spread them out.
3. Draw stems growing up from your seeds through the soil , about halfway up from the top of the paper.
4. Draw the kinds of flowers you would love to see.
5. Don't forget to create leaves along the stems.
6. Now create details in the sky and garden such as, clouds, birds, insects, etc.
7. Find a place to show your beautiful creative picture!
Kindergarten:
week 1- "Flower Garden"
Supplies: Large White Paper, Markers, Small Paint Brush, and Cup of Water
1. Use a brown marker to draw a line along the bottom of your paper about two inches up from the bottom.
2. Draw 5 or 6 lines going up from the soil not quite to the top of your paper.
3. Draw great big beautiful flowers on the stems.
4. Don't forget leaves on the stems.
5. Create details of things you would find in a garden such as, bees, ants, birds, and other bugs.
6. Color your beautiful garden in with markers.
7. Take your brush and a tiny bit of water to go over your flowers a little at a time.
8. Show off your lovely garden!
Second Grade:
week 1- "Still Life Drawing"
Supplies: Large White Paper, Pencil, Eraser Crayons
1. Choose two very simple objects from your home, one large, one small. For example, a vase and a mug.
2. Place these in front of you. they may be overlapping or side by side.
3. Make your drawing nice and large using the shapes and lines you see they are made from.
4. Shadows: Choose which side the light source is coming from, that is, right or left. Draw the shadows on the opposite side of each object. You may then draw a shaded area on that same side of each object. Create each shadow lightly.
5. Color your still life drawing in lightly with crayons or colored pencils.
6. Enjoy your creation!
Third Grade:
week 1- "Name Poster"
Supplies: Large White Paper, Pencil and Eraser, Crayon, Markers, Crayons, or any colorful media you have
1. Draw your first name or nickname large enough to fill the paper with block letters. The shorter your name the larger the letters will be.
2. Decorate each letter with a pattern , a design, or details of your choice. We want the artwork to reflect things about you. Things you love, shapes and colors that are your favorites.
3. Color in carefully and colorfully.
4. People will be able to look at your poster and know it was done by you from the personal feelings you used to create it!
5. Find a special place to display your personal poster.
