Supplies: White Paper and Crayons
1. Using squares, circles, and rectangles, draw a train engine, which is the first car.
2. Add circles for wheels and other parts as you like.
3. Using mostly rectangles, create four more train cars.
4. The next car is usually the coal car, then there are passenger cars and the last one is the caboose.
5. Add squares for windows on the passenger cars. Are there people looking out?
6. How can you make the caboose look different from the other cars? Some are colored red. Could your caboose be decorated with a design or pattern or bright colors?
7. Take a black crayon on its side and swirl it to make smoke coming out of the engine.
8. Color your beautiful sky and you are ready to finish coloring the rest of the train.
Supplies:White Paper and Crayons
1. With a dark crayon, draw a lovely sundae dish or simply a bowl.
2. Pick 3 flavors of ice cream and draw the scoops in it
3. Choose 3 of your favorite toppings and pile them onto the ice cream scoops.
4. Top it all off with whipped cream and a cherry!
5. Decorate the wall (paper) behind your ice cream as if it were wallpaper.
6. Is there a spoon? Is a hand reaching out? Use your imagination and enjoy.
Week 2 : "Snakes Alive"
Supplies: White Paper and any colorful crayons, chalks, or oil pastels
1. Draw a large simple swirl covering most of your paper.
2. Add an oval for the snake head at one end of the swirl.
3. Add a second swirl starting at the head and following the first swirl ending in a pointed tail at the end of the first swirl.
4. Use your imagination to create designs which will cover the snake body. The belly or bottom of the snake can have simple lines for belly scales.
5. You may add texture to the body by adding scales after coloring. Choose a contrasting color for the background.
6. Try not to scare anyone with your beautiful snake!
