WEEK 10: " Lady Bird Beetles"
Supplies- large white paper
black crayons for drawing
markers
Lady bird beetles are what people in England call lady bugs. What a cool name! We can draw and color lady bugs in one of their habitats.
Place your paper the tall or wide way. Draw ten or twelve small ovals all over your paper. Each oval should have two or more black dots. Draw a line down the center of the ovals. These are the bug bodies. Place a very small black oval or circle at the top of the oval for its head. Color the bodies with red.
Use a green marker to draw grass. Create green lines from the top to the bottom of the paper. Try to have the lines jump over the bugs. If you can think of more details, go ahead and draw them. One of the places lady bugs live is in the grass. Enjoy your Lady Bird Beetles picture!
WEEK TEN: "Snail Design"
Supplies- large white paper
dark crayon for drawing
crayons or markers
Place your paper the tall or wide way. I'll bet you all known what spirals are. It is a curved line you begin in the center of the paper and continue to go round and round. Stop while you still have space on each side.
On one side of the spiral, from the bottom of it, draw a snail head coming out of the shell. A snail has two eyes and two antennas. Now draw the tail coming out of the other side of the shell from the bottom.
Draw different designs or patterns with-in the circular structure of the shell. If you use more than one color for each design, the designs will stand out more.
Where is your snail? Is he in garden, a lake, or the ocean? Draw in details and enjoy coloring in your artwork. "Happy Snails to You!"
WEEK TEN: " Shape Surface Design"
Supplies- large white paper
dark marker or crayon for drawing
markers
Draw triangles, rectangles and circles all over the surface of your paper with some of the shapes touching. Color these shapes in.
Using many different colors of marker outline these shapes one at a time.
If some lines overlap that's O.K. Overlapping may be something you want to do more of.
Artists have to decide when it is the right time to stop developing a work of art. Some of your paper will be oh-so-full and other parts will not be. Finish outlining when you feel it is right for you.
WEEK TEN: "Concentric Shape Design"
Supplies- large white paper
black crayon or marker
markers
Draw about twenty marble sized circles all over the paper. Color these in different colors.
Next we draw concentric circles. This is when you have a circle and you draw a circle inside that, then another one inside that one, until you can only fit a dot inside the last circle. The circles get smaller and smaller.
Using a black marker or crayon, begin the first large circles by sharing the space with about nine other circles. This can take some patience. These circles can be wobbly and the concentric circles will also be wobbly. The contrast of the small colored circles and the black line circles will give your final design a dramatic effect.
