A lot of women stood up for what they thought was right. These are their stories.
Pakistani activist Malala Yousafzai was an inspiration to all people. She stood up for education in her country because terrorists called the Taliban took over and banned quality education for girls. She was shot in the head but luckily, she survived. For her bravery and activism, she is the youngest person to win the Nobel Peace Prize.
Ruth Bader Ginsburg was a changemaker on the Supreme Court. She was the second woman ever to serve on the United States Supreme Court. Throughout that time she was a leading voice for gender equality, women's interests, and civil rights.
Frida Kahlo was a Mexican painter. She made very famous paintings and was an activist for women, according to Rebel Girls. She stood up for the native people of Mexico. Her paintings also addressed issues of class and race.
Amelia Earhart was the first woman to fly a plane by herself over the Atlantic Ocean, Rebel Girls also say. She set many other records and also wrote books about her flying experiences.
